Created by a team from ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and the University Hospital Zurich, these bubble-like microbots are controlled using ultrasound. Injected into mice, these tiny wonders spontaneously swarm together and navigate the brain’s intricate blood vessels with incredible precision.

What makes these microbots even more amazing is that they are biodegradable. These tiny miracles, consisting of gas-filled microbubbles coated with lipids, dissolve over time, leaving no trace behind. The lipid shell is based on a substance found in biological cell membranes that ensures safety and compatibility.
