The court received a class action lawsuit from Aeroflot customers demanding the cancellation of cheap tickets from Yekaterinburg to Thailand. Previously, the airline canceled tickets purchased at low prices, citing a technical problem: round-trip tickets cost from 6,500 rubles.
Customers of the airline Aeroflot filed a class action lawsuit against it for the cancellation of tickets purchased at a low price. RBC writes about this with reference to the plaintiffs’ lawyer.
The lawsuit was filed by 54 plaintiffs. In October they bought tickets from Yekaterinburg to Thailand at prices ranging from 6,500 to 20,000 rubles round trip. Aeroflot later canceled the tickets, explaining that a technical problem had occurred. As an apology, the company gave customers bonus miles and a discount on their next purchase.
Aeroflot customers filed a class action lawsuit. The plaintiffs demand the return of the difference between the original cost of the tickets and the one that was valid at the time of filing the pre-trial claim: in terms of 54 clients, this is 7.5 million rubles. The company is also obliged to pay a fine and a court fine of 50% of the amount.
According to the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”, the seller does not have the right to unilaterally change the price set at the time of ordering tickets.
