As follows from the file of court cases, the Bank of Russia submitted a statement of claim to the Moscow Arbitration Court on March 14. The plaintiff is the General Directorate of the Central Bank of the Central Federal District.

In early March, Qiwi Bank itself also filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court against its former owners – Qiwi JSC, Qiwi Plc. and Hong Kong-based Fusion Factor Fintech Limited.

In January 2024, the international company Qiwi Plc. Fusion Factor Fintech Limited completed the sale of its Russian assets – Qiwi JSC, which includes Qiwi Bank, Qiwi Wallet, Qiwi Business and other projects.

A month later, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation revoked Qiwi Bank’s banking license for violating federal laws and failing to comply with regulatory requirements. This was the first time a banking license has been revoked since August 2022.

This week, the Deposit Insurance Agency paid Qiwi Bank depositors 75% of the entire insurance liability – 3.26 billion rubles.
