This Wednesday (13) Google released Gemini Pro for developers and enterprises. The company announced the new Google AI Studio, added more models to Vertex AI, and finally made Duet AI available to all programmers.
In addition to these new features, Google also announced that it will release Gemini Ultra in early 2024. The vehicle promises to be capable of handling highly complex tasks.
Gemini Pro for Developers
The first of the new features is the availability of Gemini Pro API in Google AI Studio. This version supports text inputs up to 32K, is temporarily available for free, and supports 38 languages.
According to Google, the version supports text inputs to create text outputs. However, the company also launched Gemini Pro Vision, a multimodal version of the model that also interprets images as input.
Duet AI for developers
Another version is Duet AI for developers and is finally available to everyone. It is an artificial intelligence (AI) that works collaboratively on new projects, accelerating the development of programs.
The tool was introduced during Google I/O in May of this year as the company’s response to ChatGPT’s programming capabilities. Duet AI integrates with Google Cloud, making it easier to run programs in the cloud.
According to the company, Duet AI is compatible with Cloud Shell Editor, Cloud Workstations, IntelliJ, PyCharm, and Visual Studio Code IDEs. AI supports more than 20 programming languages, including C, C++, Go, JavaScript, and Python.
New models in Vertex AI
Google also launched two new models in Vertex AI. Imagen 2, a text-based image generator, and MedLM, a set of artificial intelligence adapted to work in the healthcare industry.
Vertex AI is a platform from Google’s cloud sector that brings together models and machines that specialize in specific tasks. The service enables faster and more intuitive implementation of these models in applications.
Apps featuring Gemini on Android
Another interesting announcement was the implementation of Gemini in Android Studio. Now developers can start from scratch with Gemini API-ready projects or use Google AI Studio to create plugins with artificial intelligence.
