YouTube Music now shows the number of times a song has been played and has expanded access to its artificial intelligence (AI) playlist cover creator. News needs to be distributed gradually.

YouTube view counter now appears next to artist name and track tempo in the Android and iOS app. Previously, the information was located in the “Song Details” section, but now it appears when browsing public albums or playlists.

By making the play counter more prominent, YouTube Music becomes more like a traditional video player. However, the abundance of information displayed on a single screen may annoy users who prefer a cleaner interface.

Playlist cover creator

Introduced in October this year, YouTube Music has its own playlist cover creator. The tool uses artificial intelligence to create all types of images based on text description.

YouTube Music has its own AI to create personalized covers.

In practice, the cover creator works very similar to the Android 14 wallpaper creator. In it, you can choose one of the themes and complete the shape creation with some of the available alternatives.

Initially the feature was released in the testing phase. It looks like it’s reaching more US users now. There is no information about expanding the tool to more countries.

New style for the “Now Playing” page

Finally, the “Now Playing” section is now displayed in a gradient tone. Previously the page was solid color.

The "Now Playing" page now displays in a gradient tone.

The change was found in version 6.29.57 of the Android app and should now be rolled out to all users.
