According to an excerpt from a leaked document, Nvidia will launch RTX 40 Super graphics cards on January 8 this year. The presentation must be made at an event the day before CES 2024.

Revisions to the RTX 40 family focus on more performance but the same energy consumption.

According to the Tom’s Hardware website, there will be three models:

  • Nvidia RTX 4080 Super: AD103 chip, 10240 CUDA cores and 320 W;
  • Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super: AD103 chip, 8448 CUDA cores and 285 W;
  • Nvidia RTX 4070 Super: AD103 or AD104 chip, 7168 CUDA cores and 220 W.

From the leaked list, Only the power consumption of the RTX 4070 Super GPU increases compared to the base model — 20W more to be exact. However, this is not a significant increase.

The Super series revisions offer significant performance gains, so maintaining TGP on most models would be quite an achievement. Improving component performance while maintaining (or reducing) power consumption is a key goal of chip manufacturers.

Now, No information on performance gains in any of the mentioned boards. However, as the launch approaches, more rumors are likely to emerge online.

Although the information is encouraging, it is important to proceed with caution. So far there is no confirmation that Nvidia will release a revision to the RTX 40 family.
