A good way to start practicing mindfulness to reduce stress is to follow your own breathing. You can count silently or watch your breathing.
Some research shows that sitting and observing your breathing for two minutes a day for a month can significantly improve a person’s mental health and overall well-being. And two minutes isn’t that long. For example, we brush our teeth at the same time.
There are also mantra meditations. They are based on the fact that you focus your attention on the repetition of some important phrases or words. Over time, this can become a calming and relaxing practice.
