A group of researchers from Russia has made a breakthrough in the development of 6G networks by studying how human movement affects signal propagation. They developed an algorithm that takes into account signal attenuation and loss, thereby increasing stability in these networks. This discovery could be useful for the gaming industry by improving the quality of communication between the signal receiver and transmitter in traffic conditions.

Russian professor Grigory Goltsman and his team were the first to study in detail the impact of people on the functioning of 6G networks. Using transmitters and receivers, they monitored signal changes at different distances and built a computer model that predicted communication quality. Their algorithms will be able to identify highly likely sources of interference, which can help improve communication stability in 6G networks.

Empirically obtained data on the impact of users on signal propagation will play a key role in the implementation of provider plans from 2028. Goltsman and colleagues’ work provides insight into how obstacles such as moving people affect the quality of communication in these advanced networks.
