Starting January 9, 2024, the Central Bank will increase the limit of the credit support mechanism for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). This is reported on the regulator’s website.
Starting next year, companies will be able to receive investment loans in the amount of up to 100 billion rubles. The total limit of the credit support mechanism for SMEs increases from 288.3 to 320 billion rubles, explains the regulator.
Of them, 256 billion rubles were allocated to systemically important credit institutions.
These changes mean that banks participating in the mechanism can issue investment loans of up to 100 billion rubles under the combined program.
It includes two types of support: subsidies within the framework of the “1764” program of the Ministry of Energy and preferential financing within the framework of the program to stimulate loans from the Central Bank and the SME Corporation.
The Central Bank is implementing a stimulus program for SMEs together with the SME Corporation. The rate on SME loans is supposed to be linked to the key rate and cannot be higher than three percentage points for medium-sized enterprises and four for small ones.
For microbusiness entities, an excess of no more than 4.5 percentage points is expected.
The program loan is granted for a period of up to three years.
