The board of directors of Hyundai Motor approved the sale of the Russian plant in St. Petersburg, writes the Yonhap agency. Previously, this company suspended its operations due to the outbreak of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. According to Reuters, the transaction amount was 77.67 dollars (about 7 thousand rubles).
In early September, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, announced that the plant would be sold to a Russian company with a buyback right limited to two years.
As indicated in the document submitted to the regulator, the company’s management approved the proposal to sell shares of the company in St. Petersburg. The buyer will be the Art-Finance company.
The enterprise in St. Petersburg was built in 2010. Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio and Hyundai Creta cars were assembled at the plant. The company produced more than 200 thousand cars a year.
On Tuesday, December 19, it also became known that the appliance manufacturer Bosch will sell its factories near St. Petersburg to the Turkish investment fund Can Holding. The total amount of the transaction will exceed $20 million.
