Aeroflot will test the animal transportation service in the next passenger seat. The service will be available in any class of service. Transportation of a container with a pet must pay the full passenger fare.
Aeroflot has begun testing services for transporting animals in the adjacent passenger seat. This was reported by the airline’s press service.
A passenger may carry a container with no more than three pets: animals or birds. The service is available in Economy and Comfort service classes. In Business, transportation is limited to certain types of aircraft; On the Airbus A350, the placement of containers is only possible in the central block of seats in the odd-numbered rows.
“Payment for an additional seat is made according to the fare applicable to an adult passenger,” Aeroflot clarified.
The container with the animal must not weigh more than 15 kg. Dimensions of a rigid container – up to 50x30x30cm, semi-rigid – up to 50x32x30cm.
“At the same time, the carrier must allow the animal or bird to rise to its full height and turn on itself,” the airline said in a statement.
In a first stage, the service will be available on Aeroflot’s own flights until March 20, 2024. The airline will then decide to provide the service on a continuous basis.
