The principles established when building the station, including the open modular architecture, ensure that modules can be replaced when necessary. This will keep the station operational and update its technical equipment.
Modules will be replaced at the end of their service life, which is at least 15 years, in case of obsolescence or technical problems that prevent normal operation. It is possible to replace up to three generations of modules operating for more than fifty years, which will ensure the long-term existence of the station and its modern technological capabilities.
