Lime production is currently carried out outside the region due to inadequate quality conditions. Romanov added that this practice leads to logistical problems and increased costs in the rolled steel production process.
According to the minister, creating its own quarry and lime production will allow the company to improve production processes, avoid costs and reduce the overall cost of steel. The project is planned to be implemented at the beginning of 2024.
