According to the research conducted by Lending Tree, Elon Musk’s company ranks first in the number of accidents with 24 accidents per thousand drivers last year.
This is significantly higher than other brands such as Ram and Subaru, which ranked second and third respectively.
The research also found that BMW drivers are more likely to have an accident while drinking and driving. But Tesla’s high accident rate has attracted particular attention, especially in the context of its use of the Autopilot autopilot system.
In fact, earlier this year, Tesla had to recall more than 360 thousand vehicles due to concerns that Autopilot could cause accidents.
Last week, the company announced an additional recall of more than 2 million electric vehicles in the U.S. and nearly 200,000 in Canada for the same reason.
