The government has ordered the introduction of a biometric system in universities to identify students. Vedomosti writes about this with reference to the document.
The task of working on this issue has been entrusted to the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Center for Biometric Technologies (CBT). The latter assured that the use of the system will be voluntary. They also confirmed that work is already underway on a roadmap to introduce the service.
The biometric system is planned to be used to identify students during remote exams and certifications, to determine who is in front of the computer and eliminate falsification.
