American computer game developer and publisher Valve introduced the updated SteamVR 2.0 service within the Steam distribution platform.

Valve presented the updated SteamVR 2.0

SteamVR is a universal tool for using virtual reality with any hardware. Valve has been developing a new version of the app since 2019.

The updated version supports almost all features of the original Steam and Steam Deck. Optimized keyboard support for typing with two cursors appeared. The service also started supporting some new languages.

The developers added voice chat support to SteamVR 2.0 and made it easier to access notifications from the platform itself. And the improved Steam store now prioritizes virtual reality games, with these products appearing first in the catalog.

At the end of September, Valve officially presented Counter-Strike 2; the previous part of the CS:GO version was released in 2012. In the spring, players received a “huge”, according to Valve itself, update to the popular MOBA game Dota 2.
