Wildberries will increase commissions for sellers of electronics and appliances starting January 8, 2024. On average, the fee increase will be five percentage points. They will be set between 10% and 23%, writes RBC citing sources.
The remaining categories will not be affected by the change, a Wildberries representative said. According to him, the amount of commission for the sale of goods in these categories has not increased for more than a year.
The company noted that in 2023 they reduced the commission on electronic products by half, thanks to which sellers were able to increase their income. Tariffs for these categories were reduced in May and separately for sellers of new Apple devices in September.
Wildberries will also begin testing the option to cancel a purchase immediately after placing an order in January. This is how the market wants to protect users from accidental purchases when a product is selected by mistake or the wrong address is specified. On the customer side, customers making postpaid purchases will be able to use the option during the trial phase. There are about 80% of these on the market, the company notes.
