The audience of Chinese developer Baidu’s Ernie chatbot has surpassed 100 million users. Reuters writes about this with reference to Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng.

Ernie is a direct competitor to the world’s popular ChatGPT chatbot. It took Baidu five months to bring Ernie to 100 million active users; OpenAI completed its ChatGPT in two months.

Baidu shares on the Nasdaq rose 1.2% on news of audience growth.
