According to the latest data, BYD reached 526,409 electric vehicle sales, while Tesla reached 484,507 units.
This puts BYD at the top of pure electric car manufacturers in the world and highlights China’s growing influence in the global market.
Interestingly, in response to this success, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that his idea was more like an artificial intelligence and robotics company than a traditional automaker.
He emphasized that Tesla is actively working on the development of fully autonomous vehicle (FSD) technologies and the Optimus robot project.
