While Apple reluctantly accepts RCS in the upcoming iPhone, Google boasts of its victory by introducing new features.
Fotomojis are notable because they allow users to create emoji reactions from phone photos. Audio emotions add artistic expression to voice messages, allowing recipients to know the sentiment of the message before pressing play.
Screen effects bring vibrant animations to conversations triggered by commonly used words like “I love you.” Google also took a cue from social media by adding animated emojis and offering profiles similar to contact cards on iOS.
While the media is just catching up with its Apple rival, Android users are rejoicing over this feast of functionality and celebrating the “end of SMS restrictions” in the media. The update is currently being gradually rolled out among users of the beta version of the operating system.
