Business angel Anton Starsky left the Salo project, a communication agency that deals with influencer marketing, Zen promotion, creative special projects, SMM, content marketing and video production.
Starsky sold its 6% stake in Salo LLC to Konversiya LLC. The latter has owned 50% of Salo since December 28, according to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
The fact of the RB.RU transaction was confirmed by Anton Starsky and Salo CEO Alexander Kuksa. The parties did not disclose their terms.
Starsky said he sold his stake in the agency late last year and abandoned the project. He called the deal a “successful investment.” Kuksa also did not disclose the financial terms, specifying only that the transaction was carried out under market conditions.
“The role of the new shareholder is to strengthen our joint position in the market through new opportunities. The Salo agency will focus on a brand performance approach: generating demand and increasing sales through content creation and promotion. We are actively planning to work with bloggers, social media and content, and develop branded media,” Kuksa explained.
He added that with the new partner the agency will be able to carry out market studies, work more actively with data and traffic purchases, participate in development and expand the product line.
Salo’s new owner, Conversion LLC, is 100% owned by the founder of neuromarketing agency Neurolab (Om LLC), Konstantin Leonovich. Neurolab did not respond to RB.RU’s request at the time of this publication.
Starsky invested in Salo in January 2022 in a round totaling 30 million rubles. It was planned to use the money to strengthen the business model and develop new directions.
The Salo communication agency was founded in 2016. Currently, it is 50% owned by Konversiya LLC, 22% by Alexander Kuksa, 15% by Yulia Davydova, 8% by Ultramarine JSC and 5% by Olga Golovanova.
According to the Kontur.Focus system, Salo’s revenue in 2022 decreased by 59% year-on-year to 178 million rubles, with a net loss of 18.5 million rubles.
