The new system, called Quick Share, was introduced at CES and will replace Google’s existing feature called Nearby Share, which was introduced in 2020.

Quick Share offers the best of both worlds by integrating Samsung’s expertise to create the ultimate native option for sharing content between Android or Chrome OS devices.

This system allows users to click on the Quick Share icon and get a list of available devices nearby.

Additionally, Google is working with leading PC manufacturers like LG to expand Quick Share to Windows PCs as a pre-installed app in the future. The new system is expected to start being distributed to devices in February.
