Apple has lost its lead to Microsoft on the list of the world’s most valuable public companies. For a short time, Microsoft’s market capitalization surpassed Apple’s: $2.88 trillion versus $2.87 trillion. In late trading on the Nasdaq, Microsoft shares rose 1.5%, while Apple shares fell 0.3%.

According to current data at the time of this publication, Microsoft again lost its leadership in the list of the most valuable companies to Apple: Apple’s capitalization is $36 million higher than Microsoft’s.

The last time Microsoft was worth more than Apple was in 2021. At that time, Apple shares were falling due to concerns about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on product supply chains.
