Match Group, the parent structure of dating services Tinder, Hinge, PlentyOfFish, Match and others, will cease operations in Belarus from mid-February 2024. The reasons for the departure are not reported.
Starting February 15, Belarusians will not be able to log into their account or make internal purchases in the country. The company warned that purchased “super likes” and “boosts” must be spent before the closing date.
Automatically renewing subscriptions will be cancelled. Users can send application for refunds of prepaid fees and purchases of unspent consumables.
In late May 2023, dating service Tinder began notifying users in Russia that it would stop operating in the country as of June 30. After this, Russian dating apps received a significant influx of audience. Some users have grown 20% or more.
