This is a rare development for a company known for its stable pricing policy and appears to be a response to Huawei’s increasing presence in the market.

Discounts of up to $70 will be valid from January 18 to 21, on the eve of Chinese Lunar New Year.

The discounts will apply to iPhones, including the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as other Apple products such as Mac, iPad, AirPods and Apple Watch.

Apple’s decision is likely due to a double-digit decline in iPhone sales in China and analysts’ predictions that this trend will continue into 2024.

Competition from Huawei has become a big challenge for Apple, especially after its successful comeback with the new Kirin 9000S processor in the Mate 60 series.

Considering its size and potential, the importance of the Chinese market for Apple cannot be underestimated. Discounts on iPhones and other products could therefore be key to the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the country.
