There are already more than 50 Xiaomi phones (including models from the Redmi and Poco brands) that have been updated to HyperOS, a self-developed operating system that replaces MIUI. This brings with it some very important new features in terms of customization, as well as a lot of AI-powered image editing features.
HyperOS also includes improvements to overall system stability and performance: It’s faster and smoother than MIUI.and much less heavy: in fact, it is one of the operating systems that takes up the least space in the internal memory.
However, there is a way to make your Xiaomi mobile phone run much faster: with a series Tricks with HyperOS that not everyone knows, and that they are very simple and do not require third-party applications. We tell you.
Increase the RAM of your Xiaomi mobile phone
Xiaomi, Poco or Redmi phones with HyperOS have the ability increase RAM virtually. This is a system modification that allows you to “steal” space in the internal memory in order to use it more efficiently to run processes or open applications. Although the amount of virtual RAM does not have the same speed as physical memory, it can be useful in some cases and, above all, for speeding up some heavier processes.
To set up virtual RAM, you just need to follow a series of steps.
- On your Xiaomi mobile phone, go to Settings and then Additional settings.
- Then click on the call option “RAM expansion”.
- Select the amount you want to increase and confirm the changes.
Little HyperOS Trick: Clear Mobile Cache
Another interesting and useful HyperOS trick that will help your Xiaomi mobile phone to fly: clear your smartphone cache. These are temporary files that allow the system to function optimally and prevent, for example, an application from reloading some elements when the user opens it again.
The problem is that the cache memory on smartphones sometimes it doesn’t work the way it should: Creates duplicate files or accumulates unnecessary files, which can significantly slow down your smartphone. Therefore, it is important to release it from time to time.
Luckily, HyperOS has an easy way to clear memory; without the need to use third party applications. You just need to go to Settings > Cleaner and select the items you want to clear, such as cache or memory. In the clear settings we can also choose at what interval we want HyperOS to clear the system cache, so we don’t have to do it manually.
Speed up HyperOS animations

HyperOS allows you to speed up system animations, making the interface work much faster and applications open in less time. There are two ways to speed up system animation.
- On the one hand, go to Settings > Home screen > Animation speed. Next, select “balanced” or “fast” speed. You will see that the animation is much smoother.
- Press and hold the Home screen, click the gear icon, then tap Click on the “More” option. Then select the Animation Speed option and adjust the speed to your liking.
Change buffer size
A slightly more advanced HyperOS trick, but also very useful if you want to improve the performance of your device. Near change buffer size, which is used to store data while it is transferred between various system components. Therefore, the larger the buffer size, the faster some processes will run. To change this on HyperOS, simply follow these steps.
- Go to Settings > Advanced Settings and then to the option that says “Developer Options”.
- Then click on the option ‘log buffer size’.
- Change the size to 16 MB. Please note that this may have a slight impact on internal memory.
Changing the battery mode is another useful HyperOS trick

In order to save battery power, Xiaomi’s system limits the smartphone’s performance a bit because in many cases, everyday tasks like browsing social media, editing certain images, etc. do not require as much power. But fortunately there is HyperOS trick to change battery mode to high performance. This requires more battery life, but is worth it if you need maximum power for gaming.
To do this, just go to Settings > Battery and select the Mode option.. Then select High Performance mode.
