Apple has allowed the US App Store to publish links to third-party resources to pay for subscriptions and purchases within the service. The company announced it.
The commission for such transactions will be lower. For large promoters it will be 27% instead of 30%, for companies with income less than $1 million per year, 12% instead of 15%.
Apple took this step after the United States Supreme Court rejected the company’s appeal against the decision in the litigation with Epic Games. By court decision, Apple was forced to allow the publication of links to resources outside the App Store to pay for purchases.
Epic Games insisted that Apple was violating antitrust laws by not allowing payments for purchases other than the App Store, which charges a 30% commission.
