Last week on January 17th NVIDIA officially launches the new RTX 4070 Super. The new graphics card model has been updated with hardware improvements, but will be available a year later at the same official price as the 4070 ($599).
The new card is NVIDIA’s response to the market and aims to reposition its GPUs relative to the competition. The Super model has just over a thousand additional CUDA cores and also runs at a TGP that’s 20W higher than the standard RTX 4070.

RTX 4070 Super Reviews
We already have a few reviews of the RTX 4070 at this point, and most of them bring a lot of praise. After all, the RTX 4070 wasn’t exactly a bad card, it just had a poor position in terms of price and performance ratio, especially when we consider the official prices in dollars.

The improvements in the Super edition are enough to bring it closer to what the RTX 4070 Ti offers, and it is possible that this pressure will lead to a drop in the price of the traditional 4070. The Verge’s coverage highlights the card as a great upgrade option, and It’s a bit disappointing to have 12GB of VRAM instead of 16GB.
Yield
In some scenarios, the RTX 4070 even has performance equivalent to the RTX 3090, but at only a fraction of the cost and consumption. The results are impressive and the use of DLSS 3 in games allows very comfortable use in the most demanding games.
By comparing the card to the RTX 4070 and RTX 3090, we have a better idea of how the RTX 4070 Super positions itself in the lineup of Nvidia graphics cards released in recent years. The 4070 Super with 220W TGP is equivalent to a 350W card (3090) released in 2020.
With the use DLSS Framework Creation Although this is also possible in the standard version of the card, it is possible to get even more from the RTX 4070 Super. This frame rendering technology combined with DLSS Super Resolution ensures that the model can handle large 4K games with a good frame rate.
Card for 1440p?
Most of the marketing and reviews of the RTX 4070 Super tend to target this GPU at 1440p monitors, which can deliver maximum quality with high frame rates. However, it is possible to adjust the settings to have visual quality equivalent to 4K consoles and still have high fps.
Digital Foundry’s analysis drew comparisons to the graphics card running demanding games with graphics configured equivalent to the PlayStation 5. It is possible to see a big difference between hardware.
