Account hacking service Have I Been Pwned alerted users to a major leak in Trello. RB.RU readers also received this warning.

“In January 2024, data was scraped from Trello and put up for sale on a popular hacker forum,” the Have I Been Pwned notice said.

According to Forbes, the hack was most likely carried out indirectly. But cybercriminals were able to collect user data by removing it from the site. These are email addresses, full names, logins, and other account information.

Trello’s developer, Australia’s Atlassian, announced an investigation into reports of a leak. The company found no indication that the data had been collected through unauthorized access.

“All evidence indicates that the attacker was matching an existing list of email addresses to public user profiles,” the developer said in a comment.
