Chinese automakers will destroy competitors without trade barriers: Elon Musk

China’s automakers could soon destroy their competitors under current market conditions, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, quoted by Reuters.

The billionaire believes that Chinese automakers are more competitive and will successfully sell their products outside China without trade barriers.

“They will pretty much destroy a lot of other car companies in the world,” Musk said.

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, Tesla lost for the first time to China’s BYD in global electric vehicle sales.

Previously, the agency learned of Tesla’s plans to launch a new electric car model. Production of the compact crossover is expected to begin in June 2025. In the first stage, up to 10 thousand electric vehicles will be produced per week.
