As part of the new program, Samsung will offer DIY users the opportunity to replace “imaging, power, WiFi connectors.” [и] “Sound” for a variety of display types, including TVs and flagship foldable phones. Samsung even claims that most of these repairs can be done with simple tools like a screwdriver.

Long-time Samsung partner Encompass Supply Chain Solutions will be responsible for distributing parts for the new self-repair program. Encompass will also offer repair guides for specific devices.

This latest expansion of Samsung’s self-repair program is a welcome step for right-to-repair advocates who want companies to make it easier to repair their products.
