Instagram has started testing “Flipside”, an alternative profile for Close Friends. The new feature has been in development for months and according to the website Social Media TodayIt is offered to some users.
Flipside works very similar to a traditional profile; It allows you to set a profile photo, post photos, videos and Reels, but they can only be seen by whoever the user wants.

To post on Flipside, the user must select the “Audience” option during the post creation process. From now on, you can always check the photo gallery and choose an alternative name and bio.
long development
Flipside had been in development at Instagram since November 2023, when tipster Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot of the feature, by then known as “Your space.”

More friendly Instagram
Basically, Flipside serves as an alternative to secondary Instagram profiles — a common practice on the social network. Many users create alternative accounts where they only accept closer followers to post more low-key posts.
Currently Instagram Close Friends supports almost all post formats on the social network. Users can post Stories, photos, videos, and Reels specific to this audience, but the content will be displayed alongside standard content.
limited testing
For now, Flipside’s availability appears to be very limited. The functionality should be released gradually, allowing Instagram to gauge public opinion before the definitive launch. So far there is no estimate regarding the public launch of the vehicle.
