Spotify has removed songs from many Brazilian artists, including Roberto Carlos, Djavan, Gal Costa, Ana Carolina and Maria Bethânia, from its library. Users cannot listen to songs both through the mobile phone application and the computer.

The situation was noticed by Brazilians and reported on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), subscribers to the streaming service complained that they did not have access to some of the musicians’ discography.

Check out the complaints about the issue taking over X below:

Songs removed

There are dozens of songs removed from Spotify, and the ones most affected appear to be Brazilian MPB artists. To give you an idea, almost all of the singers’ albums are no longer available.

For example, the albums “Meu lado” and “Malásia” by Djavan from Alagoas have been almost completely removed from the application. In the first, only the last two songs are currently available, while in the second, there are only the last three songs to be heard.

In the case of Ana Carolina, the album “Dois Quartos” features only two songs: “Rosas” and “Vai”. Roberto Carlos, who has produced dozens of productions, also has albums such as “Amor Sem Limite”, which consists of only two songs.

And it wasn’t just Brazilians who were affected. Songs by Englishman John Lennon were also removed. Some users on social media noticed that even the songs he wrote and performed by other artists were deleted.

This was the case with Fame, composed by Lennon, Bowie and Carlos Alomar.

Other side

HE TecMundo He contacted Spotify to find out why the songs were removed from the app, but there was no response by the end of the text. The article will be updated when the platform comments on the issue.
