A bill by the Speaker of the Moscow City Duma, Alexei Shaposhnikov, on tightening fines for violating traffic rules on electric scooters and other SIMs, posted on the basis of documents of the capital’s parliament.
According to it, the following fines should be introduced by the start of the season on April 1:
• 30 thousand rubles. rub. for the use of alcohol or drugs by SIM drivers after an accident
• 1–1.5 thousand rubles. rub. for leaving the scene of an accident
• 1–1.5 thousand rubles. rub. for violating traffic rules while intoxicated
• 1 thousand rub. rub. for obstructing pedestrian traffic
This decision is associated with an increase in accident rates among SIM users. Over the nine months of 2023, 2.64 thousand such accidents were recorded across the country (an increase of +215.9% compared to the same period last year), with 31 deaths (+63%). [Коммерсантъ]
