Microsoft confirmed this Monday (10) Support for Windows 11 version 21H2 will end on October 10 this year, two years after the original edition was published. System users are already receiving warnings about the end of the maintenance period.
According to the Redmond giant, as of that date, Windows 11 Home 21H2, Windows 11 Pro 21H2, Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 21H2, and Windows 11 Pro for Education editions. Education, Enterprise and IoT editions will not be affected as they have an additional year of support.
“These editions will no longer receive security updates after October 10, 2023. Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be prompted to update their devices to the latest version of Windows 11 to maintain support,” the company said.
With the end of support for Windows 11 21H2, Computers that continue to run the version after this period may be vulnerable to different types of malware and other cyber threats.. They will also not get the new features released by Microsoft.
