The devices were launched on the Simorgh launch vehicle developed by Iran. The carrier’s payload consisted of two telecommunications cubesats, Keihan 2 and Hatef 1, as well as a research satellite Mehda, which was used to analyze Simorgh’s technical capabilities in placing satellites for various purposes in different orbits.
Iranian satellites are reportedly placed in orbits between 450 and 1,110 km above Earth.
Regarding the launch of these satellites, Germany, England and France hastily expressed “concerns”. These states believe that Iran is not engaged in science, but in its intercontinental ballistic missile deployment program.
Iran had already launched a satellite in January. The Soraya series device was launched into orbit on January 20.
