According to the information obtained, large-scale inspections have begun at the factory of the manufacturer’s contractor, Toyota Industries, due to violations detected during the certification of diesel engines. The inspection was initiated by Japan’s Ministry of Public Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
Moreover, the authorities are well versed in the matter: Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi announced that the inspections have started. Not only violations but also falsifications were revealed.
“Ministry officials will conduct a comprehensive investigation, including on-site inspections, to determine whether there are any problems within the company. Authorities will take the necessary measures based on the examination results. First of all, I want Toyota Industries to make efforts to provide detailed explanations to customers and other interested parties .This situation will shake confidence in the Japanese auto industry,” Hayashi said at a press conference.
