Google announced this Thursday (1st): Google Bard gains ability to create photorealistic images from text descriptions. The new feature makes the generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool similar to Dall-E and Midjourney.

In this version, the new Bard function creates photos from English descriptions only. So a person can type “dog riding a surfboard” or “dog surfing a surfboard” and have four drawing options produced by the artificial intelligence.

According to the Mountain View giant, all AI system creations will have a digitally identifiable watermark in their pixels. The aim is to help people distinguish original images from those created by artificial intelligence.

Bard’s new capability is a result of Imagen 2 technology, which integrates text processing into images.

Gemini Pro and Search improvements

Besides the ability to create images from text in Bard, Google’s system has received further improvements today. Late last year, the platform was integrated into Gemini Pro, a major multimodal language model.

At that time, the functionality had improved comprehension, reasoning, summarization, and coding of the English version of the Bard. Now, model available in all languages including Portuguese.

Another function offered by Google was “Double verification”. This confirms Bard’s answers. It will be available in 40 languages, including Portuguese, and will allow the user to search Google based on Bard’s answers.

The idea is to deepen the knowledge and gain access to different sources that verify the data. It will also be possible to click on the highlighted statements to obtain information that supports or contradicts those answered.
