In 2023, the share of Telegram users in Russia grew by more than 20% and reached almost half of the country’s total population over 12 years old. Messenger takes fourth place in the ranking of the most popular Internet resources in the Russian Federation, RBC writes, citing data from Mediascope.

Almost half of the Russian population has become Telegram users.

At the end of December 2023, Telegram’s average daily coverage was 47%. Furthermore, in December 2022 the figure was 39%. At the beginning of 2022, Telegram’s average daily coverage was almost two times lower: 20%.

According to Mediascope, this messenger is the absolute leader in the 12 to 17 age group. In this category, the average daily coverage at the end of last year was 76%.

By the end of 2023, the time users spend on Telegram per day increased by almost 14%. If in December 2022 it was 37 minutes, in December of last year it was 42 minutes.

Previously, Telegram founder Pavel Durov talked about the growth of Telegram Premium users four times over the year. Durov called the Telegram subscription the fastest growing subscription among instant messaging services.
