Speaking at a technology conference in Taipei, Acer Chairman Jason Chen said on the sidelines that the company is looking at local Indian manufacturing in the long term. According to him, India is the second market for Acer products after the United States and the company plans to increase consumer laptop sales there by 2024. Moreover, Acer is actively negotiating with its Indian supplier to develop local production, as this is the direction in which the Indian government’s policy will develop in the future.
Asus also follows the same strategy. Samson Hu, co-chairman of Asustek Computer, said the company is increasingly working with its local suppliers to respond to the Indian government’s call to increase local production in the long term. The manager said that Asus has developed the Indian brand of laptops, earlier the final assembly was done in India, and now full cycle production will come to the country.
