The Ministry of Education and Science has proposed creating classrooms in Russian universities for children of teachers and students. The deputy director of the department, Olga Petrova, spoke about this during the speech in honor of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
“This is necessary both for the students and for the young teachers who also came, gave a lecture, and so that the child could feel calm,” RIA Petrova quotes.
The deputy director of the Ministry of Education and Science added that other support measures will appear this year. Furthermore, the ministry will continue to create a “comfortable ecosystem for women” and their opportunities for self-realization.
The issue of creating children’s rooms in Russian universities and colleges, as Kommersant wrote, was examined by the Ministry of Labor in 2019.
This issue arose again in May 2023, when the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Tatarstan, Irina Volynets, wrote a letter proposing the creation of children’s rooms in universities addressed to State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova.
Some universities already have special rooms for children of employees and students. For example, according to the website, at the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University.
