This task corresponds to the order of the Russian president to increase the share of atom production in energy balance from existing 20% to 25%. For this, 38 new power units with various capacities, large, medium and small are planned to be built.
Particular attention will be paid to the development of low atomic production and the formation of fourth generation energy systems with a closed fuel cycle. In seven of the Tomsk region, Likhachav said that the first module of Brest’s innovative reactor for fuel production has already started operational.
