Forbes testing found that ad-supported subscribers were unable to use Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos features; this is evidenced by the absence of relevant notifications during monitoring. Users who do not want to see ads and do not wish to maintain access to Dolby must pay an additional $3 per month.
This change caused dissatisfaction among subscribers and led to a class-action lawsuit in California federal court. The lawsuit accuses Amazon of violating consumer protection laws by calling the changes to terms “deceptive” and “unfair.”
