Users have reported seeing thumbnails from other people’s cameras in the Activities tab of their Wyze app. The issue is believed to be caused by an AWS outage that overloaded Wyze servers and corrupted user data. Fortunately, only thumbnails were affected, not live streams or recordings.

As with the previous incident, Wyze initially covered up the issue but later admitted it after numerous reports from users.

Wyze’s lack of transparency and slow response raise concerns about its commitment to user trust, experts say. Interestingly, in 2020, Wyze hid a vulnerability that could lead to hacking of unpatched cameras for three years.

This incident could further reduce users’ trust in Wyze, especially after previous issues.
