The announcement was made at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, where Trump took to the stage with signs promoting his new website, GetTrumpSneakers.com. Despite Trump’s claims, the website states that he is not directly involved in development, production or sales.
Prices range from $200 for plain “45” sneakers to $400 for gold-plated versions; The images warn that the final product may not match reality. Trump brand cologne and perfume are also sold on the site for $100.
Interestingly, the home page emphasizes that Trump has no connection with the project: “Trump and related designs… are registered trademarks of CIC Ventures LLC. Trump sneakers are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump…” The site also includes a picture of Trump.
