Once again I reviewed all my subscriptions to disable unnecessary ones, and realized that this time I would say goodbye to the Yandex Plus subscription. I pay 299 rubles monthly, but of all the services I only use Bookmate to read books. I listen to music on other streaming services, I watch movies not on KinoPoisk.

Ok, I went into my personal account on Yandex and tried to fight for the money to be written off. I was ready that the service would try to stop me from such a terrible act, but it didn’t even continue, because canceling my subscription would be so difficult and time-consuming.

I had to go through SEVEN pages of offers, persuasion and even threats for Yandex to finally write off 299 rubles from me. I spend a lot of time on the Internet, but I have never passed by a quest.

I decided to share with you, this is what an attempt to cancel a Yandex Plus subscription looks like. Read with me:

1. Find the unsubscribe button

1. First, you need to find the unsubscribe button. It’s hidden here in this section.

On the main page of his Yandex account there is no hint of an “unsubscribe” button.

To find it, you need to go to the control menu at the bottom of the top console.

2. The quest is already in full swing

2. Unsubscribe at the bottom of the page. The quest begins.

Next, you need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Cancel subscription”.

Do you think that’s all? No matter how it is!

3. Persuasion, persuasion

3. Offers beneficial use of one subscription by several people.

On the next screen, Yandex reminds you that you can add several people to your subscription.

I don’t want to, so I click “Cancel subscription” again.

4. Blackmail with points

4. Points will not expire immediately, but a month after canceling your subscription. It is written in a more intense font.

On the next screen, Yandex literally screams that ALL MY POINTS WILL BURN! But if you read the small text, you will find out that they will not burn out right now, but in 30 days.

Ok, I still want to cancel my subscription, so I click “Let the points burn.”

5. Yandex does not give up

5. There is no unsubscribe button on this page, but there is a “Not interested” button, which you need to click.

On the next page, Yandex persuades you to switch off and listen to music, watch movies and everything else. Here you need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Not interested.”

Please note that there is no longer even a return request. There is a “Not interested” button.

6. Okay, keep the discount

6. Here you can get a discount on your subscription.

Heavy artillery is coming: Yandex offers to refuse and pay mere pennies for this subscription.

But cancellation has already become a subject of discussion, so I don’t agree to all these tasty offers and click “Cancel anyway.”

7. The SEVENTH page with persuasion will disappear

7. Something is switched off here, it doesn’t matter what.

We are on the seventh page in the process of canceling the Yandex Plus subscription. I don’t even read anymore what will disappear, deteriorate or break. Yandex shows my device with which I used the services in one way or another and persuades me to refuse.

Cancel.

Cancel.

CANCEL!

8.- Finally. Subscription canceled

8. HURRAY. Subscription disabled.

On the eighth page I see the long-awaited message that the Yandex Plus subscription has been disabled.

True, there is also a “Resume Plus” button, in case I suddenly change my mind at the very last moment.

Of course, I won’t change my mind; it’s even somehow uncomfortable for me to stay after such long conversations.

Ugh. After EIGHT transitions, I received the goods from Plus. It was hard, a real adventure.

Now you know how much work it costs to use Yandex services. You can also use a life hack and stop on the sixth page with discount offers and continue using Plus for 199 rubles for three whole months.

I didn’t stop and made it to the end. I don’t regret anything, I’m not going to sign up again. Thanks for the negativity, Yandex.
