The EU will lift sanctions against Arkady Volozh, Reuters has learned. The co-founder of Yandex will be one of three people who will be excluded from the sanctions list.
The European Union is preparing to lift sanctions against Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh. This was reported by Reuters, citing three sources.
According to the agency, Volozh will be one of three people to be removed from the sanctions list. This will happen after March 15, when the sanctions package will be extended.
In December it emerged that Arkady Volozh was trying to get EU sanctions lifted by the courts. Lawyer William July said Volozh no longer has legal control over Yandex.
On February 5, the Dutch company Yandex NV announced the sale of a Russian company for 475 billion rubles to a consortium of private investors. The new parent company of Yandex, instead of Yandex NV, will be the Russian MKAO Yandex.
