The Ministry of Digital Development announced plans to increase the limit of the preferential mortgage program for IT specialists. The total credit limit under the TI preferential mortgage program may increase from 500 to 700 billion rubles. This is stated in the department’s message.

The Ministry of Digital Development proposed to increase the limit of the IT preferential mortgage program to 700 billion rubles

The ministry believes that the measure will help support 15,000 more workers in the sector.

The Ministry of Finance already supported the proposal of the Ministry of Digital Development. They reported that the measure was necessary to continue with the program.

“Currently, DOM.RF guarantees the redistribution of the remaining limits to those banks that have been left without them (about 39 billion rubles). Thus, until the approval of the Government act, the issuance will continue taking into account the redistribution,” clarifies the Ministry of Finance.

In early February, the Ministry of Digital Development said the program was in high demand. Since May 2022, according to the department, it has been issued 48.6 thousand loans totaling 424.8 billion rubles. The average rate on TI mortgages was 4.2%.

Last month, the Federal Antimonopoly Service sent inquiries to six large Russian banks regarding the introduction of a commission for developers within the framework of preferential mortgages. Credit organizations previously said that after the reduction of state subsidies, the issuance of preferential mortgages became unprofitable.
