Immediately after contacting the support service, the player wrote a post on the social network Reddit, warning other users not to fall into the scammers’ game. Kaelrie stated that since he is an experienced user and has already purchased many games, he does not allow fake game pages to be found directly on Steam.

He said he saw attractive prices for popular games such as Helldivers 2, Palworld, and Last Epoch (all of which turned out to be fake), so he bought the latter and immediately launched it on his computer. And as soon as the player started the game, he immediately received a BSOD, after which he had to reinstall the operating system by formatting all data, since the error repeated. Kaelrie admitted that the game may contain malware.

“To anyone who installs and runs these games, please be aware that these games may contain malware. I formatted my computer because I started getting BSOD errors after starting it. After reinstalling everything was back to normal. The only problem is that now you have to re-download all the games,” Kaelrie shared.

As Valve later reported, all pages with fake content were blocked.
