The Bank of Russia has extended the restriction on cash withdrawals for six months, until September 9. The regulator also maintained the limit for cash withdrawals from accounts and deposits: $10,000 or its equivalent in euros.

The restriction on cash withdrawals was extended until September 9, 2024. This is stated in a message from the Bank of Russia.
The limit for withdrawing cash from accounts and deposits remains the same: $10,000 or its equivalent in euros. The money can only be withdrawn if the citizen has not previously taken advantage of this possibility, the Central Bank recalled. Funds above the limit can be received in Russian rubles.
“For banks, the ban on charging commissions from citizens for issuing currency from accounts or deposits has been extended for six months,” the Bank of Russia noted.
The previous restriction set by the Central Bank was in effect until March 9, 2024. Cash withdrawal limits were introduced on March 9, 2022 and extended several times.
